Meet The Owner
My birth name is Josalyn; however, I was spiritually blessed with the name Sunnie. I have walked through darkness which has given me appreciation for my light. Whether you are birthing a baby or birthing your next chapter, I hold space for your life changing transitions. With me, your light is noticed, your path is honored, and your healing begins.
Growing up in southern Virginia in a household that swung between abuse and fleeting moments of affection, I learned early on that chaos was my normal. As a little girl, I instinctively became my mother’s protector during those moments of chaos, stepping into roles no child should ever have to fill.

From a young age, I was deeply sensitive to the emotions of others and gifted with sight beyond the physical realm. My dreams were prophetic and spirits would visit me quite often, but because the adults around me dismissed them as imaginary, I learned to do the same. Still, I knew what I felt was real. That knowing lived inside me.​
The sudden passing of my sister added a heavy layer of grief to an already overwhelming world. In my pain, I found myself silencing my own needs to care for others, wearing compassion like an armor. While this appeared mature on the outside, this was the beginning of internal self-neglect.​
Writing became one of the few safe places I had. As an adolescent, I poured my truth into poems and short stories, and sometimes channeling voices from the other side. Other times, I was simply trying to make sense of my own voice. Creativity gave me an escape, but reality kept calling me back.

One of those reality checks was becoming a teen mother. That pregnancy did not just shape my future, it honestly saved my life. I still remember the moment the doctor placed my baby on my chest and said, “There is your baby!” It was in that instant I felt a deep spark and a connection to pregnancy, birth, and healing. This new energy of love later prepared me to understand generational trauma, chakra knowledge, deeper self-awareness, intuition, and true healing. In 2014, I officially stepped into my intuitive gifts and began offering psychic readings. That path brought both incredible clarity and painful truths, but it helped me grow. I walked through fire and came out with purpose.

And from those ashes, House of Sunflowers was born.
"I have survived spiritual, physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, codependency, additions, and emotional suppression. I know what it is like to rebuild your life from the ashes. I am a mother, a healer, and a woman who choses herself. That is why my work is not just 'work', it is rooted in rebirth and love."
